District Office: Superintendent's Message

Superintendent's Update - 8/19/2009

by Dale Hansen

SUPERINTENDENT’S UPDATE – August 19, 2009

The 2009-2010 school year is off to an exciting start. The Lammersville Elementary School District population continues to grow at both the Bethany and Wicklund Schools. The following graph is a short history of the changes we have seen over the past ten years.

With our facilities stretched to accommodate this growth, the Lammersville Elementary School District is moving forward with construction of our fourth elementary school in the Questa Village. The Sebastian Questa Elementary School is scheduled to open for the 2010-2011 school year.

In addition to educating the Kindergarten - 8th grade population, the Lammersville Elementary School District has provided the San Joaquin County Office of Education with a petition for unification. It is our goal to provide a high school facility so that we can provide a seamless K-12th grade education for the students of this community in the 2015-2016 school year. This petition needs to be approved by the County and then by the California Department of Education. We would then have a general election November, 2010. I will keep updating our progress with this unification process.

The talented staff of the Lammersville Elementary School District will continue to plan for the future so that we can provide this community with the highest quality facilities and educational environment possible.
