Principal's Message
by Keri Buckley

Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe that we are now well into the final trimester of school! The time is flying by and many exciting spring activities are coming up, including the annual California STAR testing for students in grades 2-8. Next week on Tuesday, March 2nd, students in grade 7 will be taking just the writing portion of the STAR test. If you have a child in 7th grade, please encourage them to do their best on this writing test and ensure that they have a good breakfast and get plenty of sleep the night before. The full STAR test will then be administered to grades 2-8 beginning on Tuesday, April 20th, one week after we return from Spring Break.
We continue to emphasize the six pillars of character on a daily basis here at Bethany, both school-wide and within individual classrooms. We focused on the pillar of caring throughout the month of February and will honor the student of the month winners on Friday, March 12th during our 2nd trimester awards assemblies. During the month of March, our focus will be on the pillar of citizenship. Anything you can do at home to support this concept will go a long way toward developing this important character trait in our students.
The orders for our pancake breakfast have been pouring in this week! Thank you for the tremendous response to this BSF fundraiser and I hope you and your families have a great time at Applebee’s this Saturday.
If your schedule allows, please come and join us next week for the Bethany School Foundation meeting on Wednesday night, March 3rd, at 7:00pm in the library. We would love to see some new faces!
Sincerely,
Keri Buckley
