Principal's Message
by Keri Buckley

Dear Parents,
It was a pleasure to see so many of you at Open House last week! Thank you for taking the time to visit and I hope you had an enjoyable evening celebrating your children’s accomplishments. I was also pleased to see quite a few Bethany parents at the BSF/High School Planning meeting last week at Wicklund School. Your input and participation is much appreciated!
I am happy to announce that the Lammersville School District will begin a full day Kindergarten program at all four schools during the 2010-2011 school year. All Kindergarten students will attend school for a full day starting at 8:10am and ending at 2:10pm. The full day program was piloted at Lammersville School this year and proved to be very successful for their students. Research indicates that a full day of school at the Kindergarten level is effective in helping children grasp the many standards they are required to learn in order to be prepared for 1st grade. We will have four Kindergarten classes here at Bethany and at this time there is still space available. Please encourage your neighbors and friends to register their Kindergarten children as soon as possible.
Class lists and teacher assignments for next year will be posted at 5:00pm the Friday before school starts: August 20th. Every effort will be made to place each child in a classroom environment that suits their needs and where they will reach their fullest potential. Please keep in mind that while I will not accept requests for specific teachers, you are welcome to submit a description of the type of teaching style and classroom environment that you feel is best for your child.
Please remember that my door is always open to you and that I welcome your questions, concerns, and input at any time.
Sincerely,
Keri Buckley
