Welcome Cougars!

As the first day of school has come and gone, Sebastian Questa School is slowly becoming home for all of us. Teachers and students are getting to know each other, and we are all settling into our routines nicely.
I want to thank all of our families for your patience and support as our school continues toward 100% completion. Our students have adapted well to the playground area, and once the playground equipment and fields are complete, our students will be able to have even more space to run and play.
In the classroom, a lot of good teaching and learning has already begun. I walk through every class in the morning, and it is not unusual to see students up at the interactive whiteboards, writing, and practicing math facts. School is definitely in session.
In the next few weeks, our academic programs will begin: Accelerated Reader, Direct Instruction Groups, and after school interventions. Please be on the lookout for more information regarding these, and other, programs we have for our students.
During the first week of school, your child was given many things for you to read. Please be sure that you do go over and keep your copy of the Parent/Student Handbook, as this can be a resource for you throughout the year. Also, if you can be sure to update and sign your child's Emergency Contact Form and the signature page for the First Day Packet, this will help us out tremendously.
I am very excited to be here at Questa and am looking forward to a great year. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or stop by.
Sincerely,
Lemuel Vergara
