Message from the Superintendent

by William A. Lebo

January 03, 2007

Welcome to the Lammersville Elementary School District. The Lammersville Elementary School District is a growing educational community serving students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. The District has a long and proud history of excellence in providing academic programs and classroom instruction of the highest quality. The Governing Board and staff are committed to providing academic programs leading to student proficiency and above in the areas of Language Arts, Math, and other areas of the curriculum. The District staff challenges all students by providing learning opportunities which expand and broaden the scope of learning.

The District's high expectations for students and the staff are reflected in high API scores and individual student performance levels based on the state's STAR testing program. A regular routine of homework assignments reinforce classroom instruction and helps to develop independent study habits, responsibility, and desire of success. In addition, the District maintains a safe and orderly learning environment that promotes quality teaching and learning.

Located just west of the city of Tracy, the District is a combination of rural and small city residents. The entire new town of Mountain House lies within the District's boundaries. There are currently three K-8 schools: Lammersville Elementary School (281 enrollment); Lammersville Charter School (10 enrollment); and Wicklund Elementary School (817 enrollment). The Districts newest school (Bethany Elementary School), is under construction and should be ready for students in August, 2007.

I strongly encourage and invite you to become involved in the learning activities and process of your child. There are many opportunities for you to participate in school and district activities or volunteer at any of the school sites. Please take advantage of being an integral part of your child's educational program. The staff is fully aware of the strong academic achievement when a strong partnership exists between home and school.

The Governing Board, staff, parents, and community members are very proud of our schools. You are always welcome to visit. When you do, you will observe students, teachers, support staff, parents, and other members of the educational community working together as a team. The goal of all members of this District is to present the highest quality of instruction and educational experience for all students.

Please fell free to contact your child's school principal or teacher at any time with your questions or comments. You may also contact me at the District Office or by e-mail at wlebo@sjcoe.net.

Sincerely,

Mr. Bill Lebo

District Superintendent
