Sexual Health Ed.

Comprehensive sexual health education and HIV prevention education shall be aligned with the state's content standards and offered age appropriate instruction to all students in grades 5th, 8th and high school grades. 5th grade boys and girls will be separated for instruction and limited to information that will support healthy attitudes concerning adolescent growth, human development, and body image.

Annually, parents/guardians will be notified and may request in writing that their child be excused from participating in comprehensive sexual health education and HIV prevention education. Students excused shall be given an alternative educational activity. Parents/guardians can also preview written and audiovisual educational materials at their students site office prior to instruction.
