Preschool Special Education Class
Lammersville USD currently has one preschool special day class (SDC), housed at Wicklund Elementary School. The SDC is designed for children with mild to moderate educational, behavioral or communication needs. Placement is based on the needs of the individual child.
Wicklund SDC Preschool Program provides students with the opportunity to begin their education by exploring a traditional play-based and sensory-motor preschool setting. Students are supported by an ECE Educational Specialist, Speech and Language Pathologist, and an Occupational Therapist to engage in activities that promote development and autonomy in the following areas:
- Physical (gross and fine motor)
- Language (receptive and expressive)
- Academic (literacy and mathematics)
- Adaptive (daily living)
- Social and Emotional (interpersonal and self-regulatory)
