Intra-district Transfers

The process by which a parent may request approval to attend a school other than their school of residence. INTRA-district transfer requests  are used when a student who lives in the LUSD boundaries, but desires to attend another school within the LUSD other than their school of residence.

 

All Intra-district requests will be processed in accordance with Board policy and are subject to space availability.

  1. Parent submits a completed Intra-district Transfer Form.  CLICK HERE TO ACCESS FORM
  2. Student Services Department reviews request for compliance with Board Policy.
  3. Depending on the reason for the request, Student Services may consult with resident school to explore more appropriate options other than a transfer.
  4. Intra-district Transfer Request is routed for approval/disapproval.
  5. If the request is denied, the school office will notify parents with the reason for denial.
  6. If the request is approved, Student Services will notify parents, via mail, of the approval and next steps. 

Intra-district Transfers Guidelines

  1. Approvals for all transfers are made by the Principal, Student Services Director, and Lammersville Unified School Board. 
  2. Students attending on an Intra-district Transfer attend as if they are residents of that site. To return to the student school of residence a formal written notice to revoke the Intra-district request must be sent to [email protected].  Transfers can be unilaterally revoked by the District due to behavior, attendance, or academic problems.
  3. Home to school transportation is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
  4. Students attending a school site other than their resident school due to a Special Education program placement such as a Special Day class, are not considered a transfer and are not required to submit an Intra-district Transfer Request.
  5. The district will attempt to accommodate requests to place siblings at the same school, but there is no guarantee of a transfer approval.
  6. An Intra-district Transfer may be approved for the remainder of the year to allow a student to complete a school year at the former school, subject to space availability.
