LUSD Farmers Market Events

Our K–8 elementary students participate in a nutrition lesson that included a hands-on experience at their school’s Farmers Market. Each student received “school bucks” to purchase a variety of fruits and vegetables. During the activity, they learned about the nutritional value of each item, helping them understand how to make healthy food choices and share this knowledge with their families.

In addition, students explored the value of money, gaining practical experience in budgeting and making thoughtful purchasing decisions.

Last year, Taylor Farms partnered with Grimmway Farms to donate fresh produce and branded backpacks. We are truly grateful for Taylor Farms’ generosity and continued support of our students’ health and education.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to the Wellness Committee, L.U.S.D. staff, and our incredible parent volunteers. These events would not be possible without their time, effort, and dedication.
