The Procedural Safeguards document linked below provides you as parents, legal guardians, and surrogate parents of children with disabilities from three (3) years of age through age twenty-one (21) and students who have reached age eighteen (18), the age of majority, with an overview of your educational rights or procedural safeguards.
San Joaquin County Office of Education encourages parents to participate in the Community Advisory Committee (CAC). This committee is made up of parents, public agency representatives and representatives from school districts. CAC is intended to foster increased community awareness, facilitate parent education and support and to coordinate activities on behalf of children with exceptional needs.

WorkAbility I is an San Joaquin County Office of Education resource for high school-aged students with special needs focusing on learning the skills needed to enter the work force. Services include job preparation, job searching skills, job training, placement services and job coaching. WorkAbility creates partnerships with parents, teachers and employers to aid students in gaining the skills needed to become valuable employees.
