New applicants just apply online through EdJoin.org. Before you begin the application process for employment, you will need to compile the necessary documents and certifications required for your job posting. Specific requirements will be listed with each posting on EdJoin.
All documents must be uploaded and attached to your LUSD EdJoin Application. Hand-delivered and mailed documents will not be accepted.
All applicants applying for administrative positions will be required to provide the following documents:
- Letter of interest
- Resume
- Three letters of recommendation
- Transcripts
Certificated applicants will also need an Administrative Services Credential or a Certificate of Eligibility for an Administrative Certificates Credential.

All applicants applying for classified positions will be required to provide the following documents:

Applicants applying for Instructional Aide positions will also be required to meet the one of the following conditions:
- High school diploma or the equivalent, and
- Two years of college (48 units), or
- Associates of Arts/Science degree (or higher), or
- Passage of one local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction:
- Passage of the SJCOE Proficiency Exam
- Passage of the California Basic Skills Test (CBEST)
- Passage of Multiple Subject CSET Exams
- ACT Test Scores with at least 23 in Math and 22 in English
- SAT Test Scores with at least 550 in Math and 500 in English
